Barb Runyon

Barb Runyon is the Chief Human Resources Officer for La-Z-Boy, Incorporated, one of the world’s leading residential furniture producers, marketing furniture for every room of the home.

She oversees talent acquisition, leadership development, training, employee relations and engagement, compensation, benefits, diversity initiatives, safety, privacy and corporate administration across the company’s corporate office, retail and manufacturing locations as well as at its sister brands: England, American Drew, Hammary and Kincaid.

Runyon joined La-Z-Boy in 2015 from PepsiCo and Pepsi Bottling Group where she served as Senior Director of Human Resources for PepsiCo’s Midwest Region, overseeing a $2 billion business with 6,000 employees. She has also served as the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition in PBC’s New York Headquarters as well as in a variety of field HR business partner roles.

Prior to joining PepsiCo, she held various HR management roles of increasing responsibility for a tier-one automotive supplier, Prestolite Wire Corporation.

A native of Michigan, Runyon is an active member in the community and was recently appointed to the Advisory Board of the Michigan State University School of Human Resources and Labor Relations. Other board affiliations include: Directors of City Mission, an afterschool program for at-risk youth in Detroit; and the Urban League of Detroit and Southeastern Michigan.

Runyon holds an M.B.A from Wayne State University in Organizational Development and a B.S. in Human Resources from Michigan State University.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, travel and yoga as well as spending time with her family.
